A
message from the Consul General
of Egypt
in the West Coast of the United
States
I
wish to congratulate Al Masry Al
Mohagerv Newspaper on issuing
its first issue in both Arabic
and English. I do so not only as
the Consul General of Egypt for
the West Coast, but also as an
Egyptian citizen who has the
right to be proud of the
accomplishments of his sisters
and brothers in their second
home land.
The tremendous work that the
Consulate do to strengthen ties
and support communication with
the Egyptian American community
will not succeed except through
close cooperation of the
Egyptian American community and
hose who share its goals. We see
an effort such as that of the
endeavor represented by this
leading newspaper as a building
stone in constructing a bridge
of continuity stemming from the
community itself.
Our official presence in the
West Coast and our honorable
representation of the homeland
is of course our first and main
duty. But, that will not affect
or reduce any effort to enhance
the civil, cultural and economic
ties with the mother land for
the mutual benefit of the United
States and Egypt as an
indication of the close relation
between these two important
countries at the international
level.
As the Consulate congratulates
Al Masry Al Mohager , it
emphasizes that all those who
established it and continue to
work hard on producing it are
interested in serving the
citizen as one of their most
important priorities. Serving
the citizen will not be achieved
without continuance contact
between all concerned.
I
wish to express my deep
appreciation and gratitude to
those who are responsible for
the newspaper where they made
possible for me to have a
monthly column. The Consulate
will use this column not only to
announce its activities, but
also to exchange ideas of how to
strengthen ties and serve the
Egyptian American community in
particular and the Arab American
community in general in areas of
civil, commercial, cultural and
related activities.
From this column I call on all
members of the community to
support the idea of
communication and continuity
between all sides in a manner
characterized by reciprocity
that is not one sided. I am
looking forward to seeing and
supporting such efforts that
will ultimately improve levels
of cooperation and community
service.
Finally, I wish the Egyptian
American Community and its
broader basin in the Arab
American Community continued
success. Also, I wish Al Masry
Al Mohager success in reflecting
common goals of the community in
achieving a bright future
characterized by advancement in
all aspects of life within a
sense of peace and tranquility.
Consul General
Ambassador Dr. Heasham El- Nakib
